We play 3 days a week all year round and play every...and I mean every single halen tune out there... Oh, and BTW, I'm also in a very successfull original band that now has it's 3rd cd out.... I don't think your ready to play with the big boys, slick!
Typical egos from lame "EVH" style guitarists who think they play awesome because they can play the easy DLR era songs like 'You Really Got Me' and 'Running With the Devil.' If you were anything better then halfway decent on the guitar (and educated as well), then you would know that some of the best guitar instructors have stated that you do not need all the crazy effects to sound like your idols...as long as you're actually playing them the way the songs are meant to be played hands on. I don't use a flanger much and I still pull off Ed's sound rather awesome. Like I stated, I will use EVH covers to get into the field so I can start playing my own originals. I'm sure you're the typical musicians who wants to spend his/her days playing someone else's music instead of your own because you have nothing of interest that people would want to hear.
FYI, I'm in a serious relationship and we share a 6 month old baby. I don't mingle that way.
Think what you want to think cuz I have nothing to prove to morons.
Sounds like your just looking for a chick! A little desperate if I do say so myself! Get yourself a real bassist and drummer... go over the tunes real good till you have at least 20 down cold and then maybe someone would respond to your ad! BTW there are already 3 incredible Halen tribute bands here on the Island..... I happen to be the kickass guitarist of one of them!
My name is Joe, age 25. Been playing guitar for 14 years now. Would love to start a Van Halen tribute band with a talented, good to very good looking female singer who knows how to rock and sound great at the same time. Like a female version of David Lee Roth with a touch of Sammy Hagar.
I love Van Halen and can emulate EVH's style of playing very well, even on just a guitar hooked up to an amp with good crunch and reverb. I don't need all those crazy sound effects to sound like the best guitarists out there.
Long Island music scene is the same crap and someone needs to make a dent and do somethingf different. A Van Halen tribute would be nice especially since there's not many VH tributes out there when the demand is high. A female singer would def take things up a notch in terms of being unique.
I a devoted player who wants to get out and play before I get too old. I'm willing to do originals down the road for sure when the time is right. Though I don't have a bassist or drummer right now, if I find the right vocalist and we perform as a duo, then there' no doubt that other musicians will want to come along soon after to complete the band. I would like to rehearse and gig on a regular basis every week or so at the open mics, bar jams, etc....whatever it takes. I'm very ambitious, easy going, open-minded, and full of great ideas. Please no drama or any bad habbits. Serious, open-minded singers only. I live in Kings Park.
If you are a dovoted female singer/Van Halen fan who is passionate about your craft and has looks that kill, please hit me up. I have a mic, cable, and stand that you can use for now, but you will have to supply your own PA speakers and mixers.
