I was just wondering where abouts you guys set up these jams and how i might be able to weedle myself in. I am a drummer fomr Patchogue and have been playign for about 6 years. I am extremely into fusion and just about every group you named in the influences list. I would sincerely love to come down and get some jams going.Ive been raised on fusion and It's not easy to find motivated musicians. I should probably add that I am 19 years old i dont know if thats a problem or not but I truly beleive that my chops are sufficient. please respond as soon as you are able and i hope to get some jams in soon. Peace
Hey - We are Fusion Collective, a collaboration of about 75 fusion players from Long Island & NYC. We jam out two or three nites a week at clubs in Nassau & Suffolk. All fusion players are invited to join the mix!
We play electric jazz/funk/latin/rock fusion tunes, as well as lots of spontaneous improv stuff (no straight blues).
The musician line up's are scheduled beforehand, so we know who's coming down each time. We usually have about four to seven players per jam (an alternative approach to the usual open jam format).
These arent paid gigs, but a chance to hang with like-minded players who have a passion for this kind of music.
Our site is still under construction, but you can hear recordings from 25 of our recent jams here http://www.fusioncollective.com/audio There's about 28 hours of streaming audio available.
