I'm a mature bass player with vocals forming a band that will thrive on creativity and improvisation.
As you may have guessed, I am not into classic rock or anything of that nature.
I am open to a lot of different scenarios (covers/originals - electric/acoustic) and have very diverse influences.
I am not interested in playing songs note for note but to make songs we play our own i.e, inserting extended jams in unusual places or completely rearranging material, etc.
Here are some artists that I enjoy (in no particular order) and am in no way limited to them. If you like any 3 or 4 of these, please give me a shout; I'd love to hear your ideas:
Bowie, Cream, Grateful Dead, Joe Jackson, Radio Head, 10,000 Maniacs, Peter Gabriel, Robin Trower, Joni Mitchell, Yes, Neil Young, Rush, Paul Simon, Hot Tuna, the list goes on and on....I also love jazz!
I don't expect to play music from most of these people, but it gives you and idea of what's in my CD player at any given time.
From starting a power trio that plays Trower and Cream to rearranging more artsy material like Bowie and Gabriel or anything in between, if it's a creative project, we may be a fit.
If you are a seasoned competent musician who is looking to gig, I look forward to speaking with you. Please contact me at jjssdd@optonline.net
