I'm not sure if this is still relatively current, but you pretty much described my absolute favorite bands. I sing and play acoustic guitar, strumming and plucking for about 6 years. I happen to be 20. Gotta love Iron & Wine, too.

I'm looking for one or more persons who can sing, play guitar or piano or any other kind of instrument. I play acoustic guitar, drums and i write songs and was hoping to find someone who lives in my area (melville, LI) who is interested in playing music together, both covers and original stuff. A whole band would be great but also one person who sings and plays guitar/piano would do. The music I want to play is influenced by bands such as Tegan and sara, Death Cab for cutie, bright eyes, radiohead, bloc party, mgmt, modest mouse, fleet foxes, the new pornographers, arcade fire... and a lot more.
