I'm an older bass player with lead and backing vocals looking for players who like to improvise and who play with dynamics. (Need people who know when to lay back and when to push.) I would like to do creative versions of covers and, eventually, do some originals. (I would love to be able to write lyrics and sing music that we all compose together.)
Looking for the usual guitar, keys and drums and anybody else who feels they may be interested. Vocals would be helpful so I don't have to sing all of the covers and so that we can work on harmonies, etc.
Sure, I would love to play some Dead, but there are so many Dead bands out there, I would like to do the majority of improv with other music. From Traffic to Peter Gabriel and everything in between, let's not just be a "blues band" or a "party band." Let's form our own sound and have some fun. My vision is for the group to have a mellow outer shell with a funky, soulful and moving inner core.
