Hello Jessica,
Two places on Tuesdays that are great open mic's. First is the Rockaway Cafe in east Rockaway. Exit 15 south off the southern state, bear left on Rockaway and one block south of Merrick Road is the Rockaway. Diane and Paul from East Rockaway Music run that one. It's a light hearted fun evening with some great players. I They will back you up, or you can bring your whole band. I'm a pro guitar player but I still go to that gig and play every week for the past 5 years.

Second is Lisa Millers open lam at the Funky Monkey. That is another pro level player situation to back you up, or bring your own people. Lisa is a good egg and will help you in what ever way she can.
