I've been playing guitar for 25+ years now and I have played just about every genre of music. When down in VA I used to sing some Springsteen and I used my guitar synthesizer to do all the sax parts, it was no Clarence Clemens but it got us by. I've also been singing George Thorogood my whole career. There's plenty of sax in that!! I've played in 50's, 60's & 70's bands. I love the motown sound. Right now I'm playing in a country/country rock band and have been for 5+ years. E-mail me guitarpicker37@aol.com
My name is Mark. I am 34 yrs old, been playing bass for the better part of 17 yrs. Took off 9 yrs from playing professionally to join the Coast Guard and now that I am out, I am eager to get back into it. I have live and studio experience. I am a quick learner, have a great ear, and have played in a wide variety of original and cover bands. Since being in the Coast Guard, my sightreading has taken a turn south, but I am able to read through chord charts as needed.
Some of the styles as far as originals: I have helped arrange and write for Punk/Reggae, 11 piece funk band, Heavy Metal, Blues, R&B, female fronted folk & rock bands, experimental jazz/rock, psychedelic rock, Alternative as well. Cover bands range from classic rock bands, pop, folk, alternative, reggae, (Police, Alman Bros, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, etc., and list can go on.)
Just as a heads up, I am married and have a 3 yr old, so rehearsal time for me are much better done in the evenings past 7 pm. Also wondered what your rehearsal space situation is. I'm not really keen on having to pay to play. Anyhow, if you have any questions shoot away, and I will do my best to answer any you might have.
Thanks, Mark
PS - I currently have two 4 string basses and hope to eventually add a 5 string. I currently have a Randall 300 watt head and 2x15 bass cab. Hoping to upgrade to something newer in the near future. Feel free to email me at home, captmeathead@optonline.net Hope to hear from you soon.
